The quote speaks for itself there’s no need to explain it. It is better to fail with honor than to win by cheating. For example if you are running for prom queen or king and you decided to put in the box ballots with your name on them and you know that is against the rules but you still do it than you are not respecting yourself and the other people who are running against you. Honor means high respect and by you cheating that shows that you don’t care about yourself or the rest of the people running all you care about is winning and you will do anything to win. It’s always better to lose with respect than to win by cheating.

What Mr. Moorman is saying is that the most important thing is not to win or lose but to do what’s right and fair. For example if you are in an art competition and all you are thinking about is winning and how you will do anything in order for you to win than you are forgetting the most important thing which is being fair and honorable. If you are thinking about winning than you will try and ruin someone else’s painting so that you can win and that’s not right. The right thing to do would be to honor your work and their work and just be proud that you are even competing. It’s not always about winning or losing its about doing what’s right. Remember to always choose the right.
